Theo James cast as Four/Tobias in DIVERGENT adaptation!

DivergentTheo JamesWell, he’s not one ANY of us considred, but we officially know who will be playing Four in Summit Entertainment’s film adaptation of Veronica Roth’s Divergent.

Theo James, 28, is a British actor who’s resume isn’t long, but pretty impressive. The actor, who has been seen in Downton Abby, Golden Boy, and Underworld: Awakening, will join Shailene Woodley, Zoe Kravitz, and Maggie Q as one of the main characters in the dystopian trilogy.

Moviefone reports that Jai Courtney has signed on to play Eric, and various outlets are reporting that Aaron Eckhart, Kate Winslet, and Ray Stevenson have also been cast and/or offered roles in the film.

So who wants to sound off? What are YOUR thoughts on the casting choice?

Also, Cassandra Clare announced the launch of TheMortalInstrumentsMovie.com. There’s lots of fun stuff to drool over take a look at.

We have a winner! Finnick Odair cast for Catching Fire!

I’m sure there’s lots of speculation over who will play the role of beloved Catching Fire/Mockingjay character, Finnick Odair.

First of all, let us all take moment to giggle at THIS:

Courtesy of my Pinterest addiction (My apologies to the original blog poster. I was unable to find the original source.)

Secondly, Grant Austin of Glee” auditioned for the role of Finnick and had great interest in the role. However, it seems like the odds were in Sam Claflin’s favor, as he has been confirmed to play our second-favorite HG rebel. Claflin can be seen alongside KStewart and Liam Hemsworth’s (Gale) big bro, Chris Hemsworth in Snow White and the Huntsmen. Rumor has it that RPattz, Taylor Kitsch, Armie Hammer, Trevor Donovan, and Garrett Hedlund were also considered for the role early on. Ultimately, Claflin was deemed the prime choice.

In other Catching Fire casting news, Jena Malone, Melissa Leo, Amanda Plummer, and Tony Shaloub have also reportedly signed on as Johanna, Mags, Wiress, Beetee (respectively). As is everyone else, I’m on pins and needles wondering who will play Annie, Finnick’s special lady friend. We may have to wait until Mockingjay to get that news though, as she would have somewhat of a small role in Catching Fire and is not really a dominant character… yet.

Jena Malone as Johanna

Melissa Leo as Mags

Amanda Plummer as Wiress

Tony Shalhoub as Beetee

And, sadly, most of us know by know that Gary Ross will not be returning to direct Catching Fire. Francis Lawrence has stepped up, but unfortunately will not be able to see the franchise through to the end. Parts 1 and 2 of Mockingjay are expected to have release dates of November 2014 and 2015, and Lawrence is unable to commit to the films. Both parts of the finale will shoot back-to-back (a la Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3) and the studio is already searching for a director for the final two films.

That’s all the Hunger Games/Catching Fire/Mockingjay news I’ve got for now! Do what you will with it. And then ogle the Finnick casting call picture. Again.

Liam Hemsworth as Daniel Grigori?!

I gotta say, I did NOT see this one coming…

As we all know, I will never rely on IMDb.com for factual details on upcoming movies. Because, you know. They’re always WRONG. But I can consult the ever popular website for rumors to get us all talking!

Seeing the cover reveal for Rapture by Lauren Kate made me realize that I have not checked up on the casting rumors for the Fallen movie in quite some time. And since I apparently am obesessed with this, I decided to look into it. Lucy Hale still seems to be the front runner to play Lucinda Price, but we have a new addition to the cast list! Hunger Games Liam Hemsworth is rumored (only rumored… not confirmed) to play Daniel Grigori, Luce’s love interest from the popular Fallen series.

Since I did not see The Last Song (nor will I ever), I’m not going to judge this potential casting decision until I have more facts (read: until HG comes out and I decide if he was an effective Gale in my eyes… because I’m petty like that). I like his look though, and could totally buy him as the type of fallen angel a young girl would fall for. *wink*

Admittedly, I am firmly Team Cam (I’m a sucker for a badass. I won’t lie.) and I cannot wait to see who will play him.

News from the Hollywood Rumor Mill

I HAVE CASTING RUMORS!

I adamantly refuse to call it casting “news” anymore, because it always changes and never turns out to be right anyway. BUT! I will share with you some recent tidbits of info I have stumbled across…

Once again, please remember that these are all just RUMORS. I take no responsibility if/when any of this info changes. I also won’t be held responsible for my actions if they don’t freaking decide who is going to play Lucinda Price!

Fallen

Wow. Um... yea. WOW.

I'll have a helping of that, thank you very much.

Keeping that in mind, I would like to note that Lucy Hale is still listed as playing Lucinda Price in the Fallen adaptation. However, on the same casting page, Mary Oliveros is also listed as playing Luce. *disgruntled sigh* Like Luce, there are also two different actors rumored to be playing Cam … Brant Daugherty (who many of us may know as Noel Kahn in the Pretty Little Liars TV series) and Chance Stroot (who is a relatively new face in Hollywood and seems to have never had a major role in anything). My vote? GO WITH BRANT! His swoonworthy eyes alone make him ultra Cam-like!  Although after doing my homework on Chance, I think it could be a toss up. He’s quite the little hottie, as well. Also, Liam Aiken is rumored to be playing Miles (who I remember as Klaus in Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events) and Indiana Evans is rumored as Gabbe.

Mortal Instruments

Better 1...

...or better 2?

In Mortal Instruments movie news, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey has been added to the cast as a potential Isabelle Lightwood. For the Pirates of the Caribbean fans out there, you may remember Astrid as Syrena in PotC: On Stranger Tides. And, in the time that it took me to write this blog post, Tania Raymonde has been added to the Mortal Instruments casting pool, also as Isabelle Lightwood. Raymonde has appeared in several TV series, incluidng Death Valley, Look, and Lost. Raymonde is a decent actress, and she’s got the look of Isabelle. I can totally see her playing a kickass head-turner.

That’s all I’ve got for now, but you know that as soon as I hear any more rumors, you’ll be the first ones I tell.
