In Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret, Margaret Simon is twelve years old when she comes home from summer camp and learns that her family is moving from New York City to the suburbs of New Jersey. This news is pretty jarring for her; she’s convinced her life is now over. So, for the first time, she talks to God, praying for a smooth transition.
