Second Look: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

The Story: Hazel Grace Lancaster is suffering from Stage IV thyroid cancer which has spread to her lungs. When her mother forces her to go to a cancer support group, she meets Augustus Waters, another young cancer sufferer/survivor. The Fault in Our Stars is not just a book about kids with cancer, but a touching story of the people in our lives and how those relationships change us forever.

The Low Down, Bottom Line, and everything in between: This is a completely unprecedented book review. There is nothing I could say that would do justice to John Green’s genius. Trying to put into words how truly amazing this book is would only be an insult to the book and its author, because I don’t think there are words in the English language to describe such literary brilliance.

You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll start celebrating your half birthdays, and the word “okay” will never be the same again.

OFFICIAL RATING: 10/10 (To be honest, 12/10 would be more accurate.)
